The Architecture of Grammar

LECTURER: Uli Sauerland
August 12-16, 16.00-17.30, Room 3.104

Architectural considerations played a big role in linguistic research in the 1970s (e.g. work by Chomsky, Jackendoff, Lakoff, and Montague), but less since.  The goal of the course is to develop a critical understanding of both the classical arguments and more recent work bearing on the matter in particular at the morphology-semantics and syntax-semantics interfaces.
